Fruit flies
A member of the Drosophila species - Vinegar Fly - are the tiny flies that are found where you see over-ripe fruit both in homes and in orchards or home gardens.

It is important to get rid of this fruit and also to keep treed areas clean of fallen fruit to prevent more breeding.

Wasp & Fruit Fly Trap Dome Trap
The wasp and fruit fly trap dome boxed containing one dome trap and 250 ml bottle of liquid lure. The lure is also available separately.
The lure can be diluted with water for a thinner mixture and longer lasting due to evaporation. Place the dome in an outdoor area to attract the wasps.

The liquid is non-toxic and is not attractive to bees and you can make up your own sweet bait to attract these insects away from areas that you frequent.

The Dome trap is designed as a new shape to the classic McPhail trap design for fruit flies. The insects attracted by the incorporated pheromone or attractant lure fly up the funnel shaped catchment area into the holding area. The shape of the funnel prevents the insects from escaping holding them until the trap is inspected. An insecticide toxicant strip is often included in the trap to kill the trapped insects further reducing the possibility of escape and preventing damage to the specimens for subsequent identification.
