Pests

Pests are creatures which are out of place when they invade our homes and gardens. These pests can be carriers of germs and illnesses that we want to avoid. Often they are also prolific breeders and their numbers can increase at alarming rates.

Basic pest control begins with cleaning applications and ensuring that there are not animal faeces, garbage or compost heaps that are causing the problem. Open buckets, water dishes, drums, pot plant water trays, puddles; these are water sources that can cause infestations of insects, and provide breeding places for mosquitoes. Once you have dealt with these issues, if you still have a problem then you need to look at more advanced pest control.

Problems with general pest control; it is expensive, toxic, indiscriminate and can be a major source of pollution. Much of the expense is in the waste of non-specific insect killers which are often broad spectrum and overstrength to ensure that they achieve a result. However, this creates the other problems of general toxicity to other insects, animals and even some plants, and the indiscriminate killing of valuable insects. This indiscriminate toxicity continues with the run off and pollution of adjacent land and waterways.

Pests can be controlled using non-toxic methods such as our products, which reduce numbers through mating disruption without damaging the environment. We do not promote toxic products that can run off into and pollute our waterways.

Our pest control strategy involves attracting the specific pest that you need controlled, either through bait or pheromones. As well as being 100% specific, they are non-toxic to any other life forms and are perfectly safe for the environment.
